Cate Rowling

She's Not Going to Be There, I know it.

If you are one of my "friends" you'll recognize this photo from my Facebook page. I'm using it as my avatar. I also now spend quite a bit of time in front of my laptop, using the built-in video camera to take pictures of myself in an attempt to replicate Cate's look in this picture.

Is Cate the only British actress who hasn't appeared in the Harry Potter films? Oh wait, she's Australian. Oops.

Speaking of Hogwarts, tomorrow I go to Edinburgh for a quick pop-in to Scotland. I've had a request for JK Rowling's autograph. I think I'm about as likely to see her as I am to see Cate. Or Hermione.

I am still planning a longish post on Dublin but for those of you have been waiting for my general observations, here they are:

The Irish = super funny and charming; also, super alcoholics

Really, did I even need to bother to write that? Or go to Ireland to verify it? Those people are charismatic as hell, though. And drunk as hell. But funny. But also lurch-y. But just when they're drunk.

Stay tuned for that longer post on the Irish (where I add anecdotal evidence and photos to support my stereotyping), and also my thoughts on the Scottish.
