Grad Student Update:

This just in.

For those of you interested in Elizabeth Grosz's upcoming visit to Utrecht, you can now see (briefly) what she'll be discussing in her public lecture and master class, May 19-20.

On Tuesday I head up to Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis to hear Judith Halberstam on Recent Trends in Queer Theory.

Then on Thursday and Friday, it's back in Utrecht for the Deleuze Colloquium, which includes presentations by Moira Gatens, Paul Patton, and Claire Colebrook (and Rosi Braidotti).

And, in early April I'm off to Berlin to present at the conference "Flexible Genders -- Transgressive Bodies." The conference schedule and presentation abstracts are online if you're interested in perusing them.

This conference looks so good! Lots of interesting things out of Berlin. And it looks like you are the only panelist from the States...no pressure there. 2 non academic things: love how they designate certain restaurants as "smoker friendly," and are you contacting David Schumacher whilst you gallivant around Berlin?

girl, juneau it's true... said...

all the restaurants are "smoker friendly" as far as I've seen. the entire continent is smoker-friendly. it's pretty antagonistic to lungs, however.

schumacher's in bonn, unfortunately, which is way far away from berlin.

beck, i hope you're happy, i posted photos. i'll do some more in a day, i can't go too post-crazy all once.
