London is crazy! I wonder what they'll think when they see Sweeney Todd, which opens there this weekend? As Sweeney puts it:
There's a hole in the world that's a big, black pit
and it's filled with people who are filled with shit
and the vermin of the world inhabit it
and it goes by the name of London.
Personally, Sweeney, I like London quite a bit. Sure, everyone's got on their fancy boots and their stylish coats and they all wear black and charge a million pounds for everything, and the conversion rate right now is 1 pound = 2 dollars, but still, it's great there. We walked through the West End and Soho and Covent Garden on Wed. night. In Soho we stopped to have some coffee and watched as these two guys ran stumbling from a bar with a pitcher, set up camp at an outdoor table kitty corner from us, proceeded to chug their pitcher through straws and yell profanities at other gay men going by, then jumped into a rickshaw and rode off into the night.
On Thurs. we went on a run through Hyde Park and then to the British Museum. Lots of schoolchildren were there, many of them drawing the various works. A large group of upper elementary students descended on a Grecian sculpture we were looking at, and their teacher waved his hand back towards the sculpture and said "Have a go at it, children."
So, on to Amsterdam.

so does this mean you're in the netherlands now? you should include little tidbits about what j is doing and making sure to jot down all his observations. btw, i'm pretty sure soho is in nyc...are you trying out some experimental unreliable blogarrator kind of thing? also, i still haven't seen "there will be blood," but "cloverfield" is off the shit good. it's like "citizen kane" good. it's like if-Dennis-Kucinich-

yes I'm in the Netherlands now. umm, J has his own blog to fill. I just tried to get him to guest-post on mine (for your benefit) but he won't.
Cloverfield is playing here, but I think I'm going to pass. We saw it listed at the movie theater yesterday that we passed on our way to purchase some french fries with mayonaisse. now those were off the shit good.
what classes are you taking?
the horror film and modernism. starts tomorrow. seriously, at least j needs to see cloverfield. it's like blair witch with a budget. it's like godzilla fucked the norton anthology of literary criticism and cloverfield is the baby. p.s. great blog.
