The one about my hair and weight

A quick note: I'm not actually "Emily in the Netherlands" yet, not till 22 Jan. Also, I've decided to adopt all European time and date customs now and forevermore -- Cheers!

First of all, I hope the entire country of the Netherlands is wired for wireless and that their wiring is significantly better than the Madison city wireless I use. Yes it's very inexpensive, but it totally sucks.

Issue One: I got this haircut recently. If you saw the movie Kalifornia with David Duchovny and Brad Pitt, and you remember the haircut that David's photographer girlfriend had, that's pretty much it. It's not really a look I'm comfortable with. Fortunately I'm leaving the country.

Second, it is my plan to get as fat as I possibly can before I go. This is because I do not want to intimidate the Dutch by arriving and being a thin American. That would probably confuse them. I figure I'll show up chubby and then slowly drop the weight, so they can gradually adjust. Like a lobster in the pot.

Finally. Has anyone reading this seen THERE WILL BE BLOOD!?!?!?!?! If so, please tell me how it was.

P.S. As I write this, cable is being installed at my Madison house. So I'll have a grand week of TV before my departure. Yes.
